Leatherwood Community boasts nationally renowned equestrian and hiking trails that crisscross through the heart of this mountain community.

Our new Community Pavilion offers a fun-loving social experience where POA members can gather for meetings, organized events or impromptu happy hours. Members may reserve the Pavilion for private, family or business events.

The playground swing set and kiddie cabin are ideally located between the community pool and a shallow creek where children can play, splash and explore to their hearts’ delight.

The members and visitors enjoy a scenic ride through more than 16 miles of well-maintained paved community roads.

Set in a lush green opening in the natural woodlands, our pool-pavilion area is the epicenter for Leatherwood’s residents, guests and vacationers.

When not occupied by owners, our mountain homes can be shared by vacationers who flock to the Blue Ridge Mountain retreats to enjoy stunning sunsets from open decks or cozy cabin interiors, and to sleep soundly after day trips into surrounding mountain towns.

A significant benefit to Leatherwood is having maintenance employees caring for the property year round, and available for clearing roads during snow and weather events.

Refreshing, gurgling creeks all flow toward the beautiful Elk Creek at the base of our mountain community, where water sports and activities offer cool refreshment on hot summer days.

One of the most exciting features of Leatherwood Mountains is the ubiquitous sightings of wildlife—deer, turkey, pileated woodpeckers, whippoorwills, tree frogs, the occasional bear, and many other winged and woodsy creatures who call this place home.
